Institutional Capacity Building & Support

  • Running through all of Prorustica’s work is the goal of institutional capacity-building and support in Africa
  • Prorustica does not deal in the business of creating new institutions designed from the outside looking in. We prefer to utilise and support existing institutions and initiatives and help to build their capacity
    • We do this in a number of ways:
    1. Through the sourcing of investment finance for the development of these local institutions/organisations
    2. The transfer of skills and know-how to local specialist teams and institutions
    3. The provision of business support where needed
    4. The improvement of communication networks across all commodity value chain institutions/organisations
Providing IT based knowledge exchange platforms and networks of competence for participants and partners within and across all projects.

Supporting and building the capacity of local institutions across Africa is a critical condition of securing the sustainability of growth in agricultural markets. It is also a critical condition of scaling-up effective initiatives and systems so that the ambition and potential of African agriculture is realised.
